Actress Louise Plowright dies from pancreatic cancer

louise-plowrightWhat a pity we have lost Louise to such a dreadful illness and at only 59 years old. She made a name for herself in stage musicals, co-starring in the hit West End show “Mamma Mia” for five years until 2004. She was probably best known as the sassy hairdresser in the BBC TV show “Eastenders”, where she appeared in 1989-1990.

She starred in many musicals until she was forced to stop work in the hit musical “Wicked” in London’s West End in April 2013 after she was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Throughout her treatment, she showed resilience and optimism helped by the Buddhism she had practised for almost 30 years.
